All art is a powerful force for conversation, change, and education.

That’s what drew me to photography. Whether solving a client’s advertising puzzle, provoking conversation around difficult subjects, or drawing people into deeper viewing, the work of photography offers me a rich palette to work in.

I started my career specializing in commercial food photography, and for 40 years I’ve honed my skills to create a smooth experience for my clients. The end product needs to deliver what the client needs - photographs that compel people to buy. But getting there is it’s own “product”.

Pre-production, organization, and attention to critical detail are key to any project. I take time to listen, understand the objectives, and also contribute my own creative insight to produce the absolute best possible outcome. My years of experience allows me to offer elements to enhance the end result and make the process seamless.

Collaboration is imperative when working on national and international accounts such as Twinings Tea, J & J Snack Foods, Comcast, Verizon, Lavazza, and Mars. The first video below is a behind the scenes video of the making of a tea producer’s new package line.

When working with an agency, I want to make them look good in the eyes of their client by delivering the best images possible. I strive to solve client challenges by delivering images that compel people to buy their product.

Now that I am working in New Mexico as well as the Philadelphia area I have added Tintype photography to my offering. I integrate the historic process developed in the 1800’s into today’s world for advertising, editorial publications or private commissions.

I love the black and white wet plate, tintype process and it’s enigmatic qualities. It brings intentionality back into the photographic process. Each image is one-of-a-kind. The process is time consuming. But the results are absolutely worth the effort. The large format cameras and darkroom process take me back to my roots when I started photography, before the advent of digital.

Whether editorial or commercial images for publication, a private tintype commission, or one of my own passion projects, I use the same attention to detail as I do for my advertising clients. I mix the chemistry, shoot each individual plate, process each plate in my traveling darkroom and varnish the plate after it is completely dry. Take a look at the behind the scenes video making of a tintype plate for an upcoming ad to get an idea of the process.

As a designer and later Creative Director at Bailey Brand Consulting, I have worked with Kevin for over 15 years on hundreds of photo shoots, photographing everything from food to a variety of other consumer goods to people as well as our own promotional photography. Kevin is the consummate professional, he is very organized and very well prepared. He is very aware of and works well within the photographer - art director - client relationship. What separates Kevin from other photographers is that he is a true collaborator. He listens carefully to the objectives, satisfies the need, and also contributes his own ideas and creative insight to the process. Many times, he adds an element or an effect that I would have never thought of, therefore adding so much to the ultimate result. He rolls up his sleeves, gets in the trenches with you and works extremely hard to insure the absolute best possible outcome. I highly recommend Kevin for any photography needs. As a Director, he made me look good in the eyes of many clients for the excellent results he achieved.
