You never know who you will meet, nor what will become of it! While I was working at the Corrales Harvest Festival this weekend shooting portraits in the tintype process, a fellow Corrales resident (not on social media!) came by and we discussed the wetplate process. Super nice guy and also a talented photographer. Turns out he posted photos and a nice article here.
Thank you Tim Price !
This is a moment by moment of me making a tintype portrait showing the process steps with very nice photos of the steps.
The collodion process was invented in 1851 by Frederick Scott Archer and Gustave Le Gray independently and pretty much simultaneously. You may be more familiar with the collodion process known as the “tintype” which is basically what Kevin Black who has Santa Fe Wet Plate is doing on aluminum plates.
